Extraoral Digital Imaging

Panoramic radiographs are wrap around images of the face and teeth and our technology for this modality is also digitally driven. While conventional dental radiography is taken intraorally, panoramic radiographs are taken extraorally with the sensor in a mechanism that rotates around the head.

Often times taken at a patient's first visit, this radiograph is then only taken on an as needed basis, as it does not give a detailed view of each tooth. This image provides a better view of sinus and nasal areas, wisdom teeth and can also help in locating certain nerves. While panoramic imaging used to be relied upon heavily in the past for implant procedures, our office has invested in Cone Beam 3-D Imagining technology to better serve you.
